December 7, 2015 Week Twenty-three

Hey y'all!

This week was definitely an interesting one.  We've been preparing for Zone Conference next week, and President Ames asked us to study certain things for our preparation.  One of the things he asked us to study was our Mission Call;  Elder Price & I think that he's going to make us think about if we're fulfilling our purpose in being out here.  We're working hard, but we both know of missionaries who have forgotten why they're here.  I'm excited to see President Ames throw down.  It's been a while since he's done so.  According to Elder Price, the last time President got angry was the month before Elder Price arrived 15 months ago.  On the one hand, it tells you that our mission is a really good place if he gets angry that infrequently.  On the other hand, it shows that he is angry/disappointed, which is never good.  Fortunately, I know that have been obedient and hard working, so that's all that I can worry about.

This week was a little disappointing, since we were entirely at the mercy of members.  Three times our ride to a meeting/away from a meeting was late- once a half hour late, once an hour late, and once three hours late.  It was a little frustrating, since it cut into our time for proselyting and it also made us late to a few appointments.  Then, at dinner one day, Elder Price and I had a small surprise.  The family we were eating with knew Elder Price's family, and when we showed up to dinner, Elder Price's favorite uncle was there waiting for us!  It was really strange, and it left Elder Price REALLY trunky for several days.  I hope nobody in my family tries pulling something like that on me.  We worked really hard, but because of a number of things, neither of us felt like we had sufficient opportunity to talk with people.  We're not disappointed....actually, we were disappointed.  However, we were working hard, and the results of our work will be realized someday.  God will bless us for our labors.

Hope y'all have a great week!

Scripture of the Week: Isaiah 9:6
6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.

Joke of the Week: Someone stole my Microsoft Office & they're going to pay.  You have my Word.
