Flower Mound Week 10! October 17, 2016 Week Sixty-seven

Hey y'all!

This week was fairly uneventful teachingwise. It's not that we didn't teach, it's just that 90% of our lessons were 3 minute lessons while we were out trying to find people. There's nothing wrong with that, but it just means that the majority of our week was spent out walking/biking around hoping that somebody will be willing to speak to us wherever it is that we're going. That sort of deal makes for long days, which turn into even longer weeks. I guess it's like digging holes- it builds character. ;)

By far, the highlight of the week was on Thursday when we got together as a mission to hear from Elder Kim B. Clark of the Seventy. He was really cool! Part of his responsibilities include being the church commissioner of education, a task he is well suited to since he was the President of BYU-I and the Harvard Business College. It's not an unheard of occurence to have general authorities travel and visit missionaries, but this one was especially great. We had a question and answer session with him at the end, and the questions asked were good (when Elder D. Todd Christofferson came in January there was a sister that asked him what Jesus looks like, and just about everybody facepalmed), we were taught doctrine, and we felt the Spirit. The best part of it for me was definitely how much I felt like it was all addressed towards me. There was a lot said about patience, which is applicable to me being in a slower area, and there was a lot about learning to love as Christ loves, which is something that everybody always needs to work on.

Hope y'all have a great week!

Love, Elder Jensen
